EduSport Library Project
Tuesday, 06 October 2009

Friday 2nd October saw FOE ship out 17,500 books to enhance and establish at least ten libraries in Zambia.

At 3.30pm at the Big Yellow Storage Company in Swindon, England, a container was filled by young leaders from St Johns School, Marlborough. 17500 books will be sent with sports equipment and 10 laptops to EduSport to continue their work and commitment to enhancing education and sport in the communities compounds. The container has estimated arrival time in Zambia of 10-15th November.

This is an enormous achievement for FOE in the UK. Big thanks go to everyone who has shaped this project, donated books, laptops, sports equipment and school books throughout the last 18-24months. The project has evolved since its first foundations were laid with Kaluba Kangwa and Greg in Bauleni, and back in Durham last April.

Special thanks also go to Anne Stokes of St. Johns School, Marlborough. Anne has become an incredible member of the Friend Of EduSport team in the UK. Her daily efforts organising the books have been relentless for 18months now, and the whole FOE team looks forward to welcoming her to the FOE Development Day on Saturday 10th October. Although Anne has been unable to visit Zambia this time around, she still deserves massive recognition in the realisation of this project.
