Edusport peer leader Peter Chileshie (19) tells us a bit about his life in the following paragraphs:

“ My name is Peter Chileshie and I'm 19. I am one of seven children- four boys, three girls. I'm a twin with a girl and we are the last born in our family. I am the only one who is still at school. All my brothers and sisters have got married, and I'm one who has reached grade 12. My twin sister stopped in grade ten. They had no money to pay up to grade 12 because no one was able to pay for them. But me I have managed because when I was young, the age of 14 I was doing a lot of things that helped me to reach my grade 11. From grade five to eight I earned money to pay school fees by casting stones (breaking stones off other stones).

In grade nine I was a mechanic for bicycles, just to find enough money to pay for the examinations. The other money I was using was from photographing. The same I was using for the school material eg books, shoes, pens and clothes etc.

 In grade ten I joined EduSport. This organisation helped me in many things, such as school fees, how to care for a person who is sick with HIV/AIDS etc and I am still benefiting from them.

When I was two my mother and father died. It was a long time ago and has made life very difficult.”

My name is Sarah Katete I am doing my Edusports activities with Edusports Bauleni. I started Edusport in the 2004 with my sisters and brothers due to the way we see them organize and play fun and educative games and be happy at the end of the day. Iam a full member of the “Go Sisters”. I stopped going to school when my late dad past away in 2002.

My name is Peter Nyirenda doing edusport activities in Bauleni community. I joined Edusport in the year 2003 with my friends whom we are still doing our youth peer leader work in our community. I love playing football as my career is bright. Many friends we started with are doing fine in the area of sharing, learning and teaching each other about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and Healthy Matters. Edusport is our real helper, we need to be happy and develop our community and families, thanks to all my friends at edusport and in the community for been there for us. We care do you! 

Chileshe Mulenga

My name is Chileshe Mulenga. I started playing football in the year 2003 for Bauleni Edusport and am doing my best in upgrading my talent. I then, started Edusport programs from the football and games we were playing. This is was in the year 2003.

My family has seven family members. I am number four and an orphan. We lost our dear mother three years ago. Edusport is a friend to me.  

Samuel Zulu

I started Edusport Foundation in the year 20002 and am now a qualified youth peer leader and coach who is doing fine in football coaching and volleyble.Iam coming from a family of 10.I love playing football and sharing ideas with my fellow team mates. We are a family and is belt on a solid foundation. am now graduating into a senior youth peer leader level two.
 

Nisha Shamende

My name is Nisha Shamende playing football as my main sport. Netball and athletics are my later discovered talents. I am coming from a family of nine children of which I am the fifth (5). I started Edusport in 2004 and am doing my grade 8 this year,  I will sit for end of year exams soon.

I am an orphan who lost her dad in the year 2005 and Edusport makes my life and family happier than before because they are true friends.

Jack Malambo

I am a father and a husband, my family and I live in a small settlment outisde of Chawama.  Whilst I teach and run CSEE I also have another teaching job at a school called Holy Family where I teach grade 9 in all subjects.

Richard Sakala

When our parents died we thought all is done and we didn’t know were to go but thanks to our Edusport Bauleni leaders who managed to give hope to all of us.

Nathana Banda

I am Nathan Banda coming from a family of 6 people and I am currently doing my grade eleven at kabolunga Basic school. I was born on 12th October 1989 in Lusaka rural thus in Chifwema district. I like and love playing football and volleyball. During my spare time I like to do many things such as reading and educating my fellow youth about the dangers of HIV/Aids and others.

Chibesa Lufungolo

I am Chibesa Lufungulo doing my grade ten (10) at Kwacha Basic School. I am an orphan who is staying with my late dad neice and we haven’t had a good time but we struggle to pull through. I am the first born in the family of three people.

I like playing football so much such that I want to play abroad professional so that I can help my family and many others as well.

Kaluba Kangwa

"I am the one resposible to organise all the peers in my community,develop their skills from player to leader/coach. Design programmes that suit the community and targeted community team and group of people in our work areas.To cordinate peer activities, intergret both life and sports skills in our dairly work within and outside the community and edusport foundation. Above all to implement all the approved activities within the youth peer leader committee meetings and community youth committeers meetings"
