Congratulations to everyone involved in yesterdays Go Sisters Events. From Zambia I visited Chawama's Go Sisters Leg in the morning where around 50 girls took part in games from 5 years to u18s.

Following a recent visit to Zambia, Friend of EduSport are delighted to report on the progress made by Chawama Sport and Educational Empowerment School (CSEE) in their first year being operational.
CSEE were the first recipient of a Friend of EduSport 'EduGrant' aimed at developing opportunities, 4 young teachers were awarded a £500 start up grant to start a school in Chawama to help orphaned and vulnerable children otherwise unable to access education. The school opened in May 2007 and has been officially registered with the Ministry of Education.

In light of changes to my professional capacity since I have started my
work for UK Sport and to allow for growth and expansion of Friend of
EduSport to meet its aims I have decided to step down as Director. The
Friend of EduSport Board of Trustees have accepted my decision and in
light of this have agreed to adjust the management structure of the
charity.

A word from the Director: In the last week Friend Of EduSport have secured a partnership with the Big Yellow Storage Company , gained further support from two schools and a college and secured a further two sponsors as well as a donation of footballs from David Beckhams Soccer Academy. On top of this we recently had our first national piece of press in The Herald . |

Things are moving at an amazing pace with obtaining and processing the books for the new library. On Tuesday 30th April the first consignment of books were sent to The Big Yellow Storage Company at Greenbridge in Swindon who have generously offered free storage of the books until they are shipped out next year. We took 2,500 books in 71 boxes in the pouring rain to this amazing storage facility which is to be seen to be believed! |

Still in our first year with the article published in Friday's Glasgow Herald it provided an opportunity for us to reflect on what has been an incredibly successful first year in operation as a charity.
